EL RETRATO (The Portrait). Workshop results. Monica Mura proposes to each of the participants that, based on their individual photographic portraits, give life to a new face created from fragments. These new faces, intervened and joined by golden thread seams, are associated with various previously established emotions. The emotion will be the new name of that face and the title of each portrait. In this way, based on individuality, we create a collective portrait with all anonymous portraits.

“The objective of this exhibition is to share with the public of the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum the work carried out during the last two years, from 2015 to 2017, within the Nos + other network project. It is not a sample of closed results, but an open door to the process carried out, based on the selection of paintings chosen by each participant, and creation workshops proposed by each of the four artists.The exhibition also aims to be an invitation to other people to join the dialogue around the issues raised by the participants: family, memory, intimate spaces and portrait.”
