Monica Mura
Video performance – 1920 × 1080, H.264, 1 min. – 2020
A symbolic journey on Nothing, created with the body and a tablet during the global COVID-19 lockdown, when virtual identity and digital self-representation intensified due to limitations on movement and physical contact.
The stillness of the empty space is interrupted by the word “nada,” pronounced in a loop by the Spanish system voice named Mónica (text-to-speech available in the “Accessibility” section), originally designed for cars, televisions, and call centers, and now associated with Siri.
The performance is part of the collective project TALKING ABOUT NOTHING / MAKING NOTHING, within the exhibition LA NADA Una declaración, in which each invited artist contributes a video of up to one minute, offering their personal interpretation of nothing.
